Character's Name: John William Pickett
Gender: Male
Grade: 10th
Age: 16
Birth Place:
Ontario
Physical Description:
John was never the most physical person, he is usually considered skinny and fairly useless in a fight.Standing at 5 feet and ten inches, he is the average height for a Canadian. He weighs approximately 117 pounds.
Personality Description:
John is usually nice to everyone he meets, although in extreme instances of people picking on him, he can become very grumpy. He's often the one trying to break up a fight rather than start one. His friends are more important than anything to him, although he doesn't normally have any.
Personal History:
John grew up in Ontario, with almost no friends. He was labeled as a nerd because of the amount of video games he played, and how obsessive he could become with them. Thanks to his inability to fight, he was usually picked on by older kids during elementary school.
Something he got into towards the end of elementary school, was paintball. He found that his hand to eye coordination skills from video games, also seemed to help with his aiming for the sport. He also loved the fact that he could participate in a team and actually be somewhat useful for once.
During the second last year of Elementary school, he was also introduced to the video game called "Halo: Combat Evolved" This game sparked his imagination and so called "nerdyness." He quickly bought the game after playing it once. He found that he was very exceptional at the game, and seemed to be beat almost anyone he played against. And when Halo 2 was released next year, he dove headfirst into the game.
John managed to keep his grades at an average level considering all his video game time. His social life was greatly impacted as he was playing with people around the world compared to with people in his town.
Eventually his lack of friends began to effect him, and his parents decided it would be best to move again so they kids wouldn't have any knowledge of what he was like, so he could "start over".
Unfortunately, when he moved into Tsavo, Halo 3 was released after two to three years of waiting. He was even in line at 12 am to get his copy. He had even spent all the money he had saved up to buy a $1000 dollar replica of the MARK IV Mjolnir armor from the game, it's made of complete metal, includes a small LED light on the side of the helmet, as well as speakers you can plug an MP3 player into. Later, he found some practical uses for it, like a paint ball outfit, including the MA5B paint ball gun assault rifle.
The allows him to stand at a menacing 6 feet with the thick plating on the boots, it also seems like it might be good for defense, although he'd need to work out to be able to move around in it well, seeing how heavy it is.
Sample Role Play:
John was sweating inside the armor, and again he wondered why he used it here. He held his paint ball gun in both hands, and was walking forward. It was difficult for him to move in this thing, and it was so hot!
He crouched down behind a makeshift wall that had been made in the paint ball arena. He smirked at all the stares people were giving him. "I guess it's not often someone comes walking in, in this stuff."
He leaned out from behind the wall and pulled the trigger on his paint ball gun. A few paint balls flew from the gun, and one exploded on the branch of a bush that was very close to him. Before he had a chance to lean back, several paint balls flew past his head. He jumped as one of them smacked him in the faceplate of his helmet, but failed to burst which left him still in the game.
After the close encounter he quickly pulled back wondering what to do. One of the kids beside him let out a "awww...." as he got shot by a paint ball. He stood up to fire at whoever was coming, but this time got shot multiple times in the faceplate. This left him almost completely blind, and as he stumbled backwards he tripped over a log and ended up on his back, struggling to get up while wearing the heavy armor. "Crap, I can't see...!" He tried to wipe the paint of his visor, but the metal plating on his arm just smudged it even more. "Great...just great..."
About ten minutes later, and twenty wet paper towels later his helmet was shiny with absolutely no trace of paint on it. He took his helmet off and wandered out into the parking lot. He spotted his parents car, and started to walk slowly over to them, his bulky armor preventing him from moving very fast, again.
